Dr. Kimberly Miller DDS, Certified, American Board of Pediatric Dentistry
My aspiration of becoming a dentist started in high school. I decided that I was going to become a dentist and have never looked back. The decision to specialize in pediatric dentistry, however, came later, after graduating from dental school. Being able to work with children in a profession that I love is something that I take great pride in and truly makes me feel blessed.
I received my Bachelor of Arts undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame, with a major in Sociology and Pre-Professional Studies. I completed my D.D.S. from Indiana University School of Dentistry in Indianapolis, Indiana. Upon becoming a dentist, I moved to Chicago for a 1-year residency in general dentistry. I then returned to Indianapolis, to James Whitcomb Riley Hospital for Children, for a residency in pediatric dentistry.
After completing specialty training, I stayed in Indianapolis to work both in private practice and as a clinical instructor at the Indiana University School of Dentistry. I completed the process of becoming a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry following the completion of my oral clinical examination in Dallas, Texas, in 2005. I then moved to Chicago to begin working in a practice just across the border in Indiana. I worked in that wonderful practice for over ten years before finally making the decision to work closer to my new home in the burbs, and here I am at Children’s Dental World!
I am active in a number of organizations including the American Dental Association, the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, and the Illinois Society of Pediatric Dentists. In my free time, I care for the oral and general health and well-being of my own three young children. I am obsessed with all things related to cooking, and in my former life, I played the piano and called myself a runner. My big plans for the future have been determined by my family. Apparently, we’ll be getting a dog sometime soon!
