Dr. Allison Horn DDS

I grew up in Maryland, near Washington, DC. After taking a year off to study abroad after high school, I attended the University of Michigan (Go Blue!) where I obtained my Bachelor of Arts degree and majored in Psychology. I graduated with High Honors and was awarded the Banneker Key Scholarship. I then moved to New York City to work for a non-profit organization, Project Renewal, where I assisted clients battling homelessness, substance abuse, histories of incarceration, and mental illness.

I earned my DDS degree with Honors in Pediatric Dentistry from NYU College of Dentistry. My favorite clinical experiences involved treating patients with severe dental phobia and utilizing my psychology background to make them more comfortable in a dental setting. Realizing that children offered the ultimate opportunity in helping patients overcome their fears, I decided to specialize in Pediatrics. When it came time to attend a residency in Pediatric Dentistry, I was thrilled to be selected for the program at the University of Illinois at Chicago and to move back to the Midwest.

I truly love treating children and special needs patients. I especially enjoy giving a child his or her first dental visit and making it an enjoyable experience for both the child and the parent. I have very fond memories of my own pediatric dentist, and I want all of my patients to feel the same way.

I live with my husband and our daughter, within earshot of the home run cheers at Wrigley Field. In my free time, I can be found walking along Lake Michigan with my family, exploring the Chicago food scene with my chef husband, or planning my next adventure vacation. I can’t wait to meet you and your family!
